Our Cardiovascular Services department provides electrical mechanical diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of the heart as well as diagnosis and treatment of peripheral vascular disease.

Our experienced cardiac catheterization team performs procedures that help to open blockages or repair damaged blood vessels of the heart or body. Interventional procedures include cardiac balloon angioplasty, stenting, peripheral interventions and cardiac rhythm device implantation.

Our Cardiovascular Services department is accredited by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories (ICAEL) in adult transthoracic echocardiography, adult transesophageal echocardiography and adult stress echocardiography.
Cardiac Rehabilitation is one of the most important components of complete cardiac care. Our cardiac rehab team includes a coordinator, registered nurses, exercise specialists and a dietitian. This team works with patients in making appropriate lifestyle changes to improve their condition in support of quality of life and disease management.
Our cardiac rehab program is nationally accredited in Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR).These national certifications recognize that our cardiopulmonary rehab program staff is committed to offering the most advanced practices to our patients.
The hospital offers diagnostic and follow-up heart care for pediatric patients. The clinic is led by Dennis Steed, M.D., of ECU Physicians.
