Grand Opening of New Women's Pavilion - April 9

April 04, 2019

Donna CookChoosing a hospital to deliver your baby is an important decision for you and your family. And for more than 50 years, Wilson Medical Center has provided care for women and their families as they welcome their newest bundle of joy.

We are thrilled to announce the Grand Opening of our new Women’s Pavilion at Wilson Medical Center on Tuesday, April 9 from 4-6 pm. The hospital lobby will have several interactive stations to demonstrate the services provided for mothers, babies and families at Wilson Medical Center, as well as present an opportunity to interact with our specialized team of physicians and nurses. During the event, Safe Kids Wilson County will provide car-seat safety checks and education about keeping your child safe.

Tours of the newly remodeled labor and post-partum rooms, as well as the well-baby and Special-Care Nursery are included in the Grand Opening events. On the tour, you will see that our new labor suites are outfitted with the latest technology to monitor mother and baby during labor, and following delivery. The rooms are spacious, homelike and elegantly designed to create a calm, peaceful environment for mother, baby and family support.

In addition to the well-baby newborn nursery, we have a new Special Care Nursery. The Special Care Nursery is designed with state of-the-art equipment to support a higher level of care for infants who require closer monitoring and observation following birth.

We’re here for you and your baby every step of the way, guiding you through delivery, bonding with your baby and aiding in breastfeeding. We also offer free educational classes for the community, including Preparation for Childbirth and Breastfeeding. Our Childbirth Education class will help prepare you and your loved ones with facts about labor and delivery including both information and techniques to handle the labor process. Classes are held in the Wilson Medical Center Auditorium on Saturdays from 9 am-3 pm. Breastfeeding classes are held in the Wilson Medical Center Auditorium on the third Thursday of every other month from 6-8 pm. Visit WilsonMedical.com to view a complete class schedule.

We are very excited about showing off our new Women’s Pavilion and hope to see you all on Tuesday, April 9!
