Sherrod named first Lung Nodule Nurse Navigator

Wilson Medical Center is pleased to announce that Jennifer Sherrod, RN, is stepping into the newly created role of Lung Nodule Nurse Navigator. The Lung Nodule Nurse Navigator will serve as a central point of contact for patients with lung nodules. Sherrod will help ensure timely follow-up tracking as well as the monitoring and coordination of care and scans. She will also facilitate multi-disciplinary team discussions and lead patient education.
“Jennifer’s role will be critical in the implementation and success of our Lung Nodule Program,” said Dr. Binav Shrestha, a pulmonologist at Wilson Medical Center. “I am confident that with her leadership, patients will have a trusted and experienced guidance throughout their time in our program.”
Sherrod, a Wilson native, has been a registered nurse for 12 years. During her career, she has built an extensive and diverse background across multiple specialties, including orthopedics, pediatrics, family medicine and pre-op/PACU nursing. Sherrod has served in emergency medicine, occupational health, case management and clinical education roles at Wilson Medical Center.
